Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is utilized for lowering and lifting loaded pallets from high storage spaces. This particular model is suitable for work environments with narrow spaces between aisles, such as retail establishments or warehouses. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires that make maneuvering easy.
The operator of this particular type of forklift generally stands up in a small cockpit. The stand-up design enables the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: one in the rear, and two in the front. This configuration enables for easy and fast maneuvering. There are several versions of these forklifts which are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to move the entire equipment. The sit-down model generally has four wheels.
An electric engine is utilized to power numerous narrow aisle forklifts. Machines which are electrically powered are not noisy and do not make exhaust fumes, making them the preferred choice for closed areas like retail spaces. Several lifts come with a gas engine or a diesel engine. Nevertheless, the diesel model is not suggested for indoor application since it could be noisy and produce exhaust.
