Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names like: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk alongside the machinery while they lift and transport cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent moving of loads over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is vital to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to transport unstable or tall loads using these machines. A rider can be the right answer if you are searching for a cheap method for moving cargo from one place to another. If though, you should move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the right option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is particularly made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles that could work in aisles of less than six feet. They are very handy pieces of machinery in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
