Narrow aisle forklifts
Narrow aisle forklifts are generally utilized within warehousing operations. These forklifts are essential machines in the business as their small size and excellent maneuverability allow warehouses to use space to maximum storing capacity. They can easily negotiate aisles which are 1.8 meters wide, whereas typical lift trucks require at least 3.4 meters of aisle width.
The two kinds are "narrow aisle forklift" and the "very narrow aisle forklift". The former need 2.4 meters - 3 meters in aisle width, whilst the second can function in a 1.8 meters wide space.
The narrow aisle forklift design features forks that are positioned at right angles to the truck body. The trucks do not have to face the shelves, but instead drive straight down the aisle picking up loads to the side. This particular design feature is the key to their suitability for limited spaces.
To be able to make sure that the forklift is moving in a straight line down the aisle, several very narrow aisle forklifts consist of wire or optical systems. That way, the operator could concentrate more on the picking and the placement of loads.
The cushion tires which come with these kinds of lifts are made of solid rubber. The hard tires perform well on concrete floors and paved, smooth surfaces. Narrow aisle forklifts have electric motors suited for applications in indoor places. Propane-powered models are available too.
