During the late 1990's, a Nissan Propane Forklift would have cost around $11,000 to $14,000 to buy a brand new one. You can now buy a second-hand model with this amount, with fewer than 5,000 operating hours and has about 15 feet of lifting capacity and cushion tires. However, a second-hand Nissan forklift truck which has less than 5,000 hours could be found for less than $7,000. This option may be a little bit of an older unit than some others, but remember; everything revolves around the operating hours. A unit like this will most likely have a pretty good load capacity of around 5,000 lbs.
A new Nissan forklift, dating from 2005 to the current year, could be found for about $10,000. Typically, these models would have a regular lift capacity ranging from 4,000 to 5,000 pounds. Normally, a model similar to this will have cushion tires and run smoothly. Of course, newer models usually work smoother than older ones.
Kinds of Forklifts
The forklift is usually categorized in 2 separate manners: by the structure of the forklift and the type of fuel it takes. Based on structure, the following kinds of lift trucks are among the most common:
Standard Forklift: The standard forklift comprises the typical warehouse machinery we are all familiar with. These types of lift trucks offer a lifting capacity of 3,000 to 5,000 lbs. They have a height capacity of about 20 feet.
Reach Forklift: The narrow aisle forklift and reach forklift are the kind of forklifts found in warehouses and distribution centers which have limited storage space. Narrow construction means that it is not able to carry as much as a standard lift truck model, although, it has an extendable mast which could easily lift loads about 40 feet.
Telescopic Forklift: The telescopic forklift is also known as a telehandler, or an extendable reach forklifts or sometimes even a telescopic handler. These machinery are more heavy duty and more rugged compared to the conventional forklift. These units offer a telescopic boom which is capable of being raised up and extended out. Usually, these models are utilized on rough terrain. They are able to can move loads weighing more than 30,000 pounds and are able to handle loads up to 70 feet high
Straight Mast Forklift: The straight mast forklift is most commonly utilized to perform tasks on rough terrain. These kinds of lift trucks are only capable of moving loads vertically, not like a telescopic unit. These units could reach a height of 10 to 30 feet, while raising loads up to 12,000 lbs.
